Hand-over and ‘fair wear and tear’ guide
GBV Rentals is fully pledged member of the BVRLA and committed to providing customers with the highest level of service.
Customers will receive a hire vehicle that is fit for purpose and roadworthy. Before taking custody or pre-arranged delivery, the vehicle will be appraised by a team of qualified hand-over agents. Digitally record and photograph any damage or blemishes on the vehicle. Mileages and fuel levels recorded. Tyre condition and tread levels checked and recorded. After a further inspection and walk-round with the driver, you will be asked to sign for custody. A hand-over report will be sent to you via email.
Return or a pre-arranged collection of your hire vehicle, agents will carry-out exact same process. The hire vehicle will be assessed digitally and condition including return mileage and fuel recorded.
GBV Rentals adopt the BVRLA ‘fair wear & tear’ guide, which provides information to drivers about the day to day looking after of the hire vehicle. At the end of the hire agreement customer can avoid charges if the hire vehicle is returned in a acceptable condition.
Fair wear and tear will occur under normal operation of your hire vehicle. A general deterioration may take place which is acceptable under the ‘fair wear and tear’ guidelines. Damage occurred as a result of a specific event or series of events such as impact, inappropriate use of vehicle, harsh treatment, negligent acts or omissions will be appraised and repair costs passed onto customer.
